About Richard M Davies
I have always had a keen interest in woodwork and started woodturning in the early 70s. Despite a full time career, I have been able to persevere with this interest and, I hope, have attained a high standard.
I received some woodturning tuition from the late Duggie Hart at the Cider Press Centre, Dartington, Devon, and some of my work has been exhibited there.
During the 80s my interest developed to incorporate furniture making. I was very fortunate to be able to spend seven years under the watchful eye of the late Trevor Pate at his Barbican workshop in Plymouth, Devon.
Having set up a workshop in Dornoch I aim to concentrate on producing quality items of furniture. A style that I particularly favour is inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement.
